Research Analyst at IDC

Job description

Mobile Phones and PCM, IDC South Africa

• Conduct primary and secondary research focused on IT devices and technologies in South Africa and African region
• Ability to work well under pressure and strictly adhere to deadlines
• Regularly work with quantitative market sizing and forecast tools
• Consistently analyze business and market trends from large data sets
• Conduct frequent meetings with clients, maintaining an active contacts list as well as up to date meeting notes
• Regularly write insightful reports (including publications and press releases) with ability to draw meaningful conclusions from data
• Contribute to custom research engagements
• Contribute to business development by building and maintaining industry relationships
• Public speaking and periodic public presentations at IDC events and clients
• Excellent written and spoken English
• University degree
• Market research experience, preferably with knowledge of the ICT market
• Printing and document solutions/Mobile Phones industry knowledge, IT hardware distribution or channel management is preferred

Candidate Has To Be Able To Demonstrate

• High proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office software packages
• Ability to discuss and provide a view on market trends
• Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently
• Excellent writing and presentation skills
• Good interviewing skills and communication style
• Ability to develop and maintain industry and channel contacts
• Excellent written and spoken English
• University degree
• Market research experience, preferably with knowledge of the ICT market
