    Junior//Mid Level Consultant

    Job description

    This is an opportunity for young EE graduate to learn and develop their consulting skills by working with a team of dynamic and professional management consultants. Located and working primarily in Cape Town but supporting the team nationally, the incumbent will be required to travel around the province, throughout South Africa and even elsewhere in Africa in order to undertake strategic consulting assignments on behalf of both public and private sector clients (however, this is primarily a desk based job with travel accounting for up to 20% of the incumbent’s time).     Job specification

    Provision of strategic consulting services to clients in the private and public sector. Typical tasks include:

    • Making a meaningful contribution to a successful and profitable operation
    • Identifying marketing and sales opportunities through networking functions, awareness of possible new projects, etc.
    • Providing assistance in selling services to prospective clients through a process of assessing client needs and selling the appropriate assignments
    • Conducting needs analyses for clients
    • Assistance in preparing tenders and proposals.
    • Preparing and submitting proposals on request
    • For many varied aspects of the consulting industry (in the tourism, property and other industry sectors), in conjunction with other members of the team:
    • developing research methodologies
    • conducting research and analysis
    • developing analysis tools, financial models and economic projections
    • developing a suitable strategy to suit the client’s requirements
    • Assistance with facilitation of workshops, meetings, client engagements, etc
    • Assistance with the day-to-day management of projects
    • Writing reports, or parts thereof, for clients in accordance with their needs
    • Managing project components effectively by completing them on time, at the required standard and to the client’s satisfaction

    Skills and experience required

    • Bachelor degree or higher (financial, property, tourism or hospitality related an advantage) with minimum mathematics at matric level (honours degree in property, tourism or hospitality advantageous)
    • Minimum 1-6 years of working experience
    • Excellent working knowledge of Excel
    • Working knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Ability to engage at all levels, both verbally and in writing in both English and Zulu / Sotho / Tswana
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
    • Strong project management skills
    • Strong thinking skills – strategic, bottom-line, analytical, big picture, creative, realistic, possibility, shared, unpopular, focused

    Office hours

    08:00-17:00

    There will be occasions where the incumbent would need to work overtime.

    Some travel will be required.
