Main Purpose Of The Function

The main purpose of the function is the technical delivery of innovations in the MCO on time in full, ensuring full legal, regulatory and safety compliance. He/she will provides local technical input/insights into innovation projects to R&D and MCO partners. He/she will also acts as the TPL supporting landing of innovations/renovations/VIP program in South Africa

The incumbent will also support activation of product launches working closely with marketing and SC Teams.

As part of the RD AAME UFS team, incumbent will be involved in delivery of projects in AAME as a cluster projects team member.

Key Accountabilities / Main Accountabilities

• As TPL is accountable for assigned Project Leadership – single point of contact for delivery of technical elements.
• Accountable for execution of all technical elements (e.g. formulation, processing, specifications, and safety) for new product development, innovation/renovations, VIP projects, while ensuring full legal, regulatory and safety compliance – internal and external requirements.
• Supports implementation of regional/local R&D elements of the Category Program.
• Brings the necessary skills and expertise to develop relevant product formulation and working very closely with marketing colleagues in meeting customer development brief.
• Interface between Supply Management and Supply Chain on local supply chain support related activities.
• Technical input and insights into innovation projects to the R&D organization, local marketing, external relations, supply chain and technical compliance networks.
• Ensure projects compliances and support delivery of FE in IPM and gate documents including Eco Design, IPM and active support in Unilever Sustainability Living Plan.
• Provide support on technical support of advertising claims in communication with trade and consumers based on excellent technical, legal and competitor understanding.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Food technology, chemical, process engineering
• Preferably minimum 2 years of experience in a technical environment, preferably in R&D in Food service and/or Foods Categories.
• Ability to work on cross-functional teams and projects as well as with external partners
