    Account Director

    Job description

    John Brown Media South Africa is seeking to appoint an Account Director. The position is based in Johannesburg and will report directly to the Group Account Director.

    SUMMARY:

    ACCOUNT DIRECTOR – This position is to support the Group Account Director with the overall implementation of publishing strategies and assist in controlling and managing all business aspects of the account, including negotiations with suppliers and clients. You need to be a strategic and solutions orientated thinker, an innovator and a leader of your team. You need to be able to set up and communicate clear and attainable challenges for your team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategy: Implementation of client strategy across multiple platforms, all requirements managed and overseen

    Client Service: Excellent client service and client liaison on a day to day basis

    Budgets: Management and achievement of budgets set and budget objectives

    People: Manage permanent staff and secure the best freelance talent to execute the work required

    New business: Identify and create opportunities or extensions for existing clients that will sustain and grow John Brown Media

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Good understanding of both print and online content platforms
    • Excellent industry knowledge
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a client service role
    • Experience in the content marketing industry will be a strong advantage

    • Attention to detail and accuracy, following up to ensure that all commitments are fulfilled
    • Accountability, ensuring projects are completed in timely manner, closely monitoring activities
    • Results orientated
    • Entrepreneurial thinker with highly influential, motivational personality

    • Commercially and entrepreneurially orientated
    • Strategic thinker with strong analytical abilities
    • Flexible and resilient
    • Occasional travel required
    • Relevant Tertiary qualification
    • Valid driver’s license
