    Retail Sales Manager

    Job description

    To manage the Dermalogica Concept stores portfolio including general retail and inventory systems management; staff management and financial management. The Retail Sales Manager is required to drive achievement of revenue targets, improve retail competencies, maintain positive sales growth and manage costs and expenses of all stores, in addition to researching, identifying and securing locations for new stores.

    • Achieve Targets
      • Achieve monthly and annual Sales revenue targets
      • Achieve monthly and annual Services revenue targets 
      • Manage existing and new store budgeting and sales forecasting, P&L analysis (and action) and new financial year business planning
      • Ensure successful and timeous execution of all planned activations for concept spaces to optimize revenue, increase store awareness and expand our customer base
      • Convert 45% of total footfall to Dermalogica as new users
      • Drive 75% of consumers in store to purchase Dermalogica products and/or services
      • Drive average docket/average spend at R1500
      • Grow services to ensure we maximize our capacity
    • Increase Store footprint
      • Research, identify and secure spaces for future stores
      • Ensure all equipment is ordered and manufactured, layouts designed and marketing initiatives rolled out
      • Effectively execute and set up the opening of all new stores by the required opening date
    •  Relationship management
      • Work in collaboration with other departments to drive and execute overall business strategy
      • Liaise and project manage store roll out by collaborating with mall developers, project managers and Shop fitters.
      • Build strong relationships with Center Management to facilitate negotiations on marketing opportunities and obtain a good understanding of the mall demographics.
      • Work closely with marketing to design marketing activities, including a merchandising calendar, for all stores including launch plans
    •  Team management
      • Identify and recruit high performing concept store teams
      • Conduct regular assessments and active development and motivation of the Skin coaches through coaching and internal training sessions.
      • Manage induction, training, performance management, succession planning and all staff wellbeing.  Ensure stores maintain the highest level of professionalism based on Dermalogica and CAVI values
      • Manage conflict within teams
      • Conduct regular team meetings to review plans, share information and ideas
      • Ensure stores maintain the highest level of professionalism; offering top quality service and treatments.
      • Develop and manage the supervisor’s development program and continuously work to develop the entire team.
    • Inventory management and merchandising
      • Ensure inventory is managed monthly and accurately recorded
      • Ensure all stores are merchandised for high impact and according to brand standards
      • Manage stock levels through actively engaging team members involved in demand planning
      • Manage and authorize all orders and purchases within budget limitations
      • Ensure the POS system is set up and that teams are trained in its utilization, maintenance and reporting
    •  Policies and procedures
      • Compile and manage all policies and procedures through a SOP manual (incl. treatment procedures, score cards, projects etc.)
