This role is challenging and expects a lot, yet still provides a lot of freedom to "write your own story." The expectations placed on the successful candidate are juxtaposed with the prestige you gain from delivering outstanding products to their stakeholder, while the group looks to you for strategic guidance. You will grow immeasurably in this position, and touch all aspects of management within IT, it is the type of experience which can lead to a senior executive level within the corporation.

Interview Process Required Will Be a 3 Part Phase

• Technical assessment, to assess basic technical coding ability. While this is not the key role of the position, the candidate will be required to prove that they have technical knowledge.
• Telephone or Face to Face interview depending on availability of the candidate.
• Face to Face interview with the ICT committee chairman, potentially also the Marketing Manager and CEO.

Requirements, Qualifications And Experience

• Minimum of 6 years, ideally 8 years, technical and development experience in IT - with at least 2 of those years including management experience ideal.
• Bachelors degree or diploma from a recognized tertiary institute, with a focus in Compute Science or Informatics.

Requirements

Development responsibilities

This is not cut and dry and the individual may need to pick up fixing of bugs, deployment of projects, as well as the occasional project or feature add, however they will have the luxury of choosing what they want to work on and when to delegate.
Providing architectural insight and guidance on projects. The ability to KEEP IT SIMPLE with regards to meeting stakeholder requirements, is key. Delivering an MVP and then optimizing later.

Management requirements

• Managing of stakeholder expectations and requirements.
• Reporting back to the ICT Committee as well as the national board.
• Occasionally presenting product offerings at regional meetings as well as key note address at National Convention (Sun City 2018).
• Management of staff deliverables and grooming backlog for priorities
• Strategic planning and management
• Management of Vendor relationships
• Management of a team of 7 staff members ( 4 developers, 1 MIS and 2 support and admin) - this team is going to grow considerably in future with more focus and budget being placed on IT within the Group.
• Some Windows server management
• Ensuring the appropriate compliance procedures are followed.
• Management and allocation of budget
• Change management - Working closely with the head of Marketing and Training as well as management committee to achieve the groups goals.
