A new career opportunity has become available within the Risk Function.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, BAGL Risk, with 6 direct reports, Risk Information Services is an enterprise-wide shared service that develops and maintains high quality risk management information and reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements and business needs to enable the effective management of risk. The Head of Risk Information Services(RIS) is responsible for the management of the function ensuring delivery of the following key outputs:

• Risk Management Reports and Disclosures to the Board, Exco, Principal Risk Officers and Business Unit Chief Risk Officers
• Sourcing and quality assessment of risk’s data (internal and external)
• Management of relationships with 3rd parties (e.g. credit bureaus)
• Maintaining a sound operating infrastructure including skills, processes, technology and controls
• Driving a transformational agenda to continuously improve efficiency and enable compliance to new/amended regulatory requirements

Key Accountabilities:

• Oversee and own design and delivery of all Barclays Africa Risk information and reporting
• Lead a transformational agenda to step change efficiencies for BAGL RIS Lead the engagement with external and internal stakeholders including (20%):

Education and Experience Required:

• B-degree (Accounting, Economics, Statistics or Related Quantitative Science)
• 5-10 years’ of analytics/risk management experience, preferably in a banking domain.
• Sound knowledge of information and reporting management including processes, controls and technology
• Broad knowledge of risk management and understanding of the possibilities offered through sound data management
• Experience of successful innovation and driving technology changes
• Experience of managing cross functional teams across multiple locations
• Demonstrable ability to understand and interpret metrics, distilling them into key messages for internal and external stakeholders
