Junior Commodity Buyer at British American Tobacco

British American Tobacco is currently recruiting for a Junior Commodity Buyer to join our great team based in Heidelberg, South Africa. The Commodity Buyer will have fair knowledge of the supply chain process, supplier base, capabilities and expected trends.

The main purpose of the role is

• Control and co-ordinate the supplier base for Machine Spares, Components, and General office and factory requirements (GOFR) for BAT South Africa (BATSA) and BAT Mozambique
• Ensure the most operationally qualitative and cost effective source of supply
• Plan all re-order levels and quantities on a daily basis, procure the items, and ensure their availability when required.
• Ensure the imports/exports of Machine Spares for BATSA, clearing and compile final documents.
• Grade 12 Certificate and 4 years applicable experience in the Logistics or Procurement field
• Commercial Degree or Diploma with at least 2 years applicable experience
• SAP knowledge/ experience
• Knowledge of Import/export/ custom procedures
• Knowledge of procurement principals and processes
• Knowledge of the relevant Import and Export regulations will be advantageous
• Basic knowledge of technical terms
• An understanding of Commercial activities.
• Proficient in communicating with multi-functional teams
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of BI Report for intercompany replenishment
• PC literacy. Advanced knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel
