Plan, Organise, deliver and monitor education and competencies so that all staff attain the skills essential to provide care to the Aged Residents of Wallsend Aged Care Facility
The skill set needed will be high but at least must meet the minimum requirements of the Aged Care Standards Agency and Hunter New England Local Health District
To manage external education including contract education involving Department of Health & Ageing grants
Selection Criteria
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, with a portfolio demonstrating extensive clinical experience
Recent and extensive experience in the provision of nursing education
Additional relevant postgraduate certificate in geriatric/psychiatric nursing and/or in education and certificate IV in workplace training
Demonstrated ability to work within a Person Centred Philosophy with commitment to Continuous Improvement
Knowledge and demonstrated experience of the Aged Care Funding Instrument, the Aged Care Act and Accreditation standards for Aged Care Facilities including commitment to residents rights.
Demonstrated capacity to implement effective educational programs in a busy clinical environment and committed to work within unit budgetary constraints
