    Panel Operators -Storage, Liwa Plastics Industries Complex Project

    Job description

    Kindly Note this Role will be located in OMAN

    REPORTING TO: Shift Team Leader, Storage

    DELIVERABLES

    • Accepts shift from previous shift Panel Operator with detailed log sheet of operational adjustments and changes during previous shift.
    • Capture all major highlights and constraints experienced during the shift in the log sheet in detail for the following shift.
    • Monitors unit’s process performance on a continuous basis using the Distributed Control System (DCS).
    • Diagnose abnormal situations and takes corrective action from the control panel.
    • Ensures equipment is operating within specified parameters and reports serious operational deviations to the Shift Team Leader.
    • Reviews and compares outside log sheet readings at regular intervals with the control room instrumentation readings and ensure they correlate.
    • Reviews laboratory sample analysis results and makes necessary adjustments of the control panel instruments.
    • Controls operating plant start-ups, shutdowns, and emergencies by alterations of speed, temperature, pressure and flow rates as necessary.
    • Facilitate the shutdown and start-up for turnaround, maintenance and inspection purposes with adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
    • Implements the emergency procedures as dictated by the circumstances and SOPs.
    • Initiates operational adjustments to ensure optimization of process performance and improves high value product yield.
    • Manage all aspect of normal operation and short term trouble shooting aligned with rules and integrity management of people, environment and equipment.
    • Full technical knowledge of the process, product and risks associated

    Knowledge Experience & Qualifications:

    • Minimum Qualifications for this position is a Diploma in Engineering or similar.
    • Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience as a DCS Panel Operator within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry and cryogenic Storage experience is advantage..
    • Advance functional knowledge of DCS
    • Knowledge of instrumentation and controller.
    • Knowledge of ESD and fire gas system management
    • Knowledge of the refinery process, plant equipment and process control.
    • Knowledge of the Petrochemical process and plant equipment.
    • Experience of project and pre-commissioning, commissioning procedure of LPG bullets, Methanol and propane cryogenic storage.
    • Knowledge of chemicals and catalyst types and performance.
    • Contribute to improving processes and procedures within the department in function with the Area
    • Knowledge of reading and interpreting P&ID and PFD.
    • Strict follow-up of rules and procedures to keep all operations under safe processes.
    • Performance & Development
      • Contributes to the succession planning of Omani staff as required by the Shift Team Leader and Area Manager.
      • Initiates self-improvement plans and expedites learning through the participation in effective training programmes and other relevant learning opportunities.

    Reporting

    • Raises incident reports for any abnormal plant operations.
    • Reports near misses
    • Reports quality off spec
    • Develops daily DCS report.

    Language:

    English (fluent) required, Arabic is advantageous
