    Cluster Automotive Segment Manager

    Job description

    Reporting to the Cluster Managing Director, you work closely and constructively with the cluster and particularly with Trade & Marketing (CEN & Local), Auto Customer Experience Team, Operations and LOC to retain and expand our current automotive customer base. Ensure high customer satisfaction and drive cluster sales and business targets within the automotive segment. Delivering top line growth on volume and revenue through a team spanning several geographies. You are a seasoned business leader with a strong commercial history and a proven ability to work within an African multicultural context. Applicants should note that the job will be based in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth or Johannesburg, with the final location still to be determined.

    Key Responsibilities

    • To Optimise and deliver Volume and Revenue for the cluster in the automotive segment and globally for Ford and General Motors (GM).
    • To Deliver on Customer Engagement survey targets for the cluster in order to increase Customer satisfaction and loyalty within the automotive vertical.
    • To deliver on productivity targets for the cluster FFE/Auto Sales FTE
    • To deploy clear objectives for the automotive segment linked to the cluster scorecard aligned with Safmarine and Liner sales strategy
    • Leverage TNM Market mapping and plans
    • Drive a performance culture including the target setting and management of SIP
    • Develop a sales pipeline mind-set supported by effective coaching and competency development
    • Recruit and develop a high performing sales team in the automotive segment.
    • Ensure overall co-ordination across geography, clusters, shared functions and Maersk Line Sales, related to the Automotive vertical.
    • The Control Tower functions in Ford, GM as well as the East London office (Daimler & MBSA) report into this function.
    • Setting a dedicated auto strategy and driving campaigns for the major Auto customers (Ford, GM, Daimler/MBSA), but also developing new automotive customer base as well as the components and sub-suppliers to the automotive segment.
