Tax Specialist: Indirect Tax at Nedbank

Job Purpose

To ensure compliance with tax legislation and tax reporting requirements across the group and provide decision support.

Job Responsibilities

• To ensure compliance with tax legislation which includes Indirect Taxes Advisory, Planning, Compliance, Analytics and Indirect Tax Risk Management and Indirect Tax Reporting requirements across the group and provide decision support.
• Build relationships with stakeholders through proactively engaging with them
• Ensure accurate and complete tax accounting and reporting by implementing and ensuring adherence to the necessary processes and controls
• Reduce risks and ensure compliance by preparing and reviewing tax returns. Ensure legal compliance and reduce reputational risks or financial loss by attending to stakeholder queries (e.g. SARS; SARB etc.)

Essential Qualifications

• NQF Level
• Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

• CA (SA) with HDip tax / Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Post Graduate Degree / LLM / Higher Diploma: Taxation

Minimum Experience Level

• At least 5 years working experience in an Indirect Tax role with specialist knowledge of financial institutions.
• Must have thorough working knowledge of VAT Legislation. SAP knowledge an advantage.
