A clothing and footwear retail company based in Durban is seeking to employ a Planning Manager for the planning department.

The ideal candidate must possess the following competencies;

• Matric Certificate.
• A Bachelor’s degree in BCom or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a Planning manager in a retail company.

Job Roles

• Management, leadership and control of the planning department.
• Serving as an advisory position in the warehouse and purchase decisions.
• Respective reporting, strategic planning and implementation in the department.
• Clear and precise communication with suppliers and clients.
• Expressing ideas.
• Conflict resolution and team building within the planning department.
• Providing feedback and solutions.
• Delegation of work flow with warehouse and planning department.
• Responsibility and forecasting.
• Identify problems and gather relevant information to solve problems.
• Analysis and assessment of situations.
• Strategy development.
• Applicability and usability of extract data from specific software. Conflict management, training and enforcement of relevant policies and procedures.
• Achieving dead line dates and budget control management.
• Order processing.
• Allocation.
• Distribution.
• Stock administration, OTB (order to buy), performance management and replenishment.
• Stock management within the planning department and at store level.
• Liaising and relationship building with suppliers.
• Forecasting quantity and sales analysis.
• Consolidating and regrouping of Inventory.
• Work with buyers to develop strategic plans and translate them into merchandise assortment plans and documentation.
• Presentation of plans to quarterly to directors and executive board when applicable.
• Build seasonal assortment plans.
• Creating, analysis and maintain of advanced reports.
• Aligning available spend with actual spend and ensuring optimal receipt rate.
• Brand and trend analysis and interpretation.
• Ability to use software specific to planning and planning
