    Academic Manager

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:        

    The academic Manager of LCIBS is responsible providing driving innovative and transformative teaching and learning for an online mode of delivery; and academic operations that support an exceptional student learning experience and success. The Academic Manager inspires and assures academic development of tutors and facilitators; the achievement of high levels of student engagement and support; and a culture and service devoted to student learning experience, success and employability The main purpose of the job is the academic management of lecturers and academic tutors; quality assurance; certification and general academic functions.

     

    REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

    • A minimum of a degree is required but a post graduate qualification in Education is advantageous. A Master of Education degree is preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
    • Strong organisational and administrative skills
    • Proven working experience in higher education teaching and learning
    • A passion for developing the mediation and facilitation of learning online
    • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional & Learning design models
    • Curriculum planning skills
    • Solid knowledge of course development and NQF alignment
    • Solid knowledge and comprehension of accreditation processes
    • Policy formulation knowledge and experience
    • Management experience
    • Extensive knowledge of quality assurance
    • Ability to conduct an academic SWOT analysis and creation of improvement strategies
