Accountant at Ascendis Health

JOB OBJECTIVE:

• Holds primary accountability for the book keeping as well as administration from day to day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accounting and reporting

KEY RESULT AREAS:

BOOKKEEPING:

• Reconciliation of and balancing of dormant entities intercompany accounts
• Perform monthly reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts
• Prepare and process journal entries as required by the Financial Manager
• Assist with the preparation of month-end management accounts
• Assist with the preparation of internal and external audit preparation
• Assist with the preparation of yearly budget and quarterly forecasts
• Working with and maintaining the GL structures
• Daily/Weekly/ Monthly Financial Reporting to Head Office
• Monthly reporting on Cognos for all dormant entities (intercompany/TB/tax/notes)
• Assist with the preparation of Annual Financial Statements
• Adhoc duties required by the Financial Manager

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Preferably BCom or equivalent qualification
• The personality attributes and administrative & accountancy skills typically associated with successful Bookkeepers
• Working knowledge of Pastel/Sage
• Microsoft Word and Excel proficient
• Knowledge of Cognos and CDM beneficial
• Good (English) communication skills (verbal & written)
