    Accountant

    We are looking for a dynamic person to join the Bash finance team as an Accountant. This role is a mix of operations and finance and is uniquely positioned to help plan, steer and monitor performance against our long-term plan. This position is a great opportunity for an experienced Accountant who is proactive, able to multitask and prioritise work to accommodate the requirements of a dynamic and scaling business.

    The Accountant is responsible for managing the recording of financial information in the General Ledger and supporting Management in the production and maintenance of accurate trial balances

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Under limited supervision, be responsible for various activities relating to the maintenance, update and record keeping of a complete and accurate general ledger ensuring data integrity.
    • Populate journal templates and supporting documentation to submit to Management and Record-to-Report function within Shared Services (including but not limited to accruals, prepayments, year-end journals, intercompany entries).
    • Compile and maintain detailed monthly schedules (income and expense tracking, balance sheet reconciliations).
    • Ensure that the inputs to and the management of any assets within the division are provided to the Shared Services Centre.
    • Ensure the planning tool accurately reflects actuals and projections for all costs.
    • Assist with ad-hoc duties as required to support Finance Operations.

    WHO YOU ARE:

    This job is for you if you have:

    • A newly qualified chartered accountant or an experienced accountant if not a qualified CA (SA).
    • Minimum of 0-1 years’ post-CA (SA) qualification experience or 3-4 years experience as an accountant if not CA (SA), preferably in a high-growth organisation.
    • An independent, self-motivated individual who works well in a fast-paced environment, with a positive, service-orientated attitude and attention to detail.
    • Excellent multi-tasker who effectively prioritises tasks and projects in order to meet deadlines, whilst allowing time to review.
    • Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
    • Solid understanding of record keeping, accounts payable/receivable principles and financial accounting processes.
    • Team player; flexible and willing to support in other areas when required.
    • Strong computer skills including G-Suite and Microsoft office (specifically Excel).
    • Experience in SAP is advantageous.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills..
    • Must have a sense of urgency, be self-motivated, and be proactive.
