    Accounting Supervisor - Midrand (Finamics)

    Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ (Finamics), has an opportunity available for an Accounting Supervisor to join the team. 

    Experience & Qualification:

    Essential:

    • Matric – Grade 12 or Senior Certificate
    • Diploma/ Advanced Certificates in Finance
    • IFRS experience
    • 2 – 5 years of minimum work-related experience 

    Responsibilities:

    • Verify and ensure weekly bank statement submissions are uploaded on Sage.
    • Complete monthly cashbooks, accruals, journals, and VAT for relevant clients.
    • Analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting practices.
    • Oversee daily transactions such as verifying, calculating accounts receivable data.
    • Reconcile payments to ensure the accounting system reflects the correct transactions.
    • Develop communication tools and mechanisms relating to training program.
    • Ensure that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial standards.
    • Liaise with department heads to ensure that each department remains within budget.
    • Assist stakeholders with general queries as they come in or direct their queries to the relevant people.
    • Supervise and provide overall guidance to the team.
    • Ensure that the team maintains compliance with accounting legislation.
    • Take full responsibility for performance of all direct reports, motivating and managing them in relation to quality standards.

    Knowledge required:

    • Knowledge and understanding of Accounting Standards.
    • Understands the process of identifying detailed duties and requirements for a particular job as well as the importance of such duties.

    Competencies/skills required:

    • Builds constructive working relationships characterised by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
    • Copes well under pressure and has the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties or toughness.
    • Enables cooperative and productive group interactions.
    • Computer skills – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
