    Accounts Payable Supervisor

    Job Description

    • The South African Sugar Association (SASA) has a permanent opportunity available for an Accounts Payable Supervisorbased inMount Edgecombe.
    • The South African Sugar Association (SASA) provides a range of specialist services that enhance the profitability, global competitiveness and sustainability of the South African sugar industry. The Finance Division provides Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Taxation, Treasury, Payroll and associated services to SASA. 
    • We have an excellent permanent opportunity for someone with four years' relevant experience in a similar environment that includes supervisory responsibilities. 
    • This position is based in Mount Edgecombe and reports to the Finance Manager. The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for the effective and efficient performance of accounting activities relating to accounts payable and cashbook in accordance with internal controls and procedures as well as the supervision of accounts payable employees.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Management of 4 accounts payable employees including allocation of responsibilities, training and development
    • Supervising the preparation and recording of accounts payable and daily Cash Book transactions
    • The preparation of daily cash flow statements
    • Assistance with electronic bank payments
    • Ensures that the filing and archiving of documents and records is carried out efficiently and effectively
    • Providing assistance with monthly and annual audit file preparation
    • Preparation of month-end Accounts Payable reconciliations
    • The management of the stationery and equipment requirements of the Division Other Ad-hoc duties as required by management from time to time

    Minimum Requirements:

    Education and Experience:

    • A three-year accounting related Degree/Diploma with 4 years of experience in a creditors department of which 2 years should be at a supervisory level
    • Good working knowledge of Syspro and proficiency in MS Office
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
