Africa Talent by Deloitte is seeking a talented Indirect Tax Consultant to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a VAT advisor, you will be part of an internationally operating team specialized in advising large companies, both Dutch and non-Dutch, in indirect taxes, supply chain optimization, mergers & acquisitions, audit investigations, alignment processes with tax authorities, interim VAT management, ensuring (foreign) VAT compliance as well as technology and ERP-related projects.
You will be responsible for the following:
Advising clients on VAT matters, actively in various sectors including automotive, consumer products, retail, wholesale, distribution, transport, and hospitality.
Close collaboration with colleagues from the team in the Netherlands, from other disciplines, and colleagues from foreign offices.
Participation in (international) training and client events
Customer-oriented, with the client at the centre of solving issues.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in commerce with Law, Accounting, Economics
Approximately 2-4 years of relevant work experience
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
