Area Manager: Inland Region- Limpopo at Bathu Shoes (Pty) Ltd

Job Summary

The Area Manager is responsible for store sales, product, and systems knowledge, leading the impeccable execution of retail planning and ensuring the consistent application of business controls. This includes ensuring the success of all the retail stores within an assigned region in meeting financial and service targets. This Area Manager will oversee stores as per the operational requirements of the business envisaged to be Gauteng, Northwest, Northern Cape & Freestate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to take senior management instruction and ensure the proper dissemination of business imperatives to store staff, ensuring their proper understanding and timeous execution of business plans and monthly targets.
• Improve store standards by ensuring to identify and recommend improved service practices and procedures to Headquarters.
• Ensure consistent engagement with all your retail stores. This includes regular, impact-driven travel to all stores that form part of your region.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting on the status of your region to headquarters.
• Ensure risk aversion measures are maintained, and there is the minimisation of store stock loss by influencing store culture to be aligned to the value proposition of the business (i.e. respect, integrity, authenticity, humility, transparency, impact, diversity and inclusion).
• Ensure infrastructure integrity of store assets by ensuring accurate stock-taking on a regular basis.
• Ensure controls are in place so that the products delivered to stores correlate with the stock type and numbers issued by the warehouse department.
• Ensure there are proper security and risk aversion measures in place for cash handling at stores.
• Ensure accurate workforce planning of store staff for operational efficiencies during retail trading hours.
• Ensure all in-house retail displays are quality-controlled & brand aligned.
• Ensure consistent support for all in-house promotions, events, and campaigns by having an understanding of the promotions calendar and store activations issued by the marketing department.
• Increase store revenue by driving an exceptional customer service experience in-store.
• Ensure consistent product knowledge by retail staff by teaching them and ensuring they become subject matter experts on Bathu’s in store and online offering (i.e. sneakers, gift vouchers, pay just now, etc.)

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Completed Grade 12
• A Valid South African Drivers License
• 3 Years of Retail Experience in a Management or Supervisory Role
• Computer Literate
• Excellent Communication Skills in South African Languages
• A Completed Relevant NQF Level 6 Degree or Diploma (would be Advantageous)
