Artisan Electrician - Northam Development at Redpath Mining

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric certificate/ equivalent
• Section 13 Trade Test or Section 26D as qualified electrician
• First Aid and Competent B are an added advantage
• Driver’s license and own reliable transport
• Competency in working at heights
• Medically Fit

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the maintenance & repairs of various Winders
• Experience in Sinking and Shaft equipping
• Equipment installation, repairs, and maintenance in the shaft
• Legal requirements as per MHSA and knowledge of workshop procedures
• Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installation and maintenance of machinery including HT switchgear
• Maintenance of quality engineering standards
• Repair and maintain winders to mine standard
• Report all incidents and accidents, unsafe conditions, and unsafe acts
• Risk assessments must be conducted for each task
• Ensure tools and equipment are sufficient, in good condition and safe to use
• All legal inspections must be conducted according to the time intervals and a true report recorded in the record book
• Be responsible for sub-ordinates, maintenance schedule, Health & Safety in an area of responsibility
• Ensure availability of spares and materials
• Enforce good housekeeping
