Artisan Fitter - Refinery at Rand Refinery

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Execute planned maintenance within specified time at a high quality and give feedback to the respective foreman to improve plant availability and reliability.
• Promptly attend to any breakdowns within the shift as and when required.
• Manage all maintenance work orders issued to you on time to ensure that weekly and monthly KPIs are met.
• Assists in cost reduction initiatives by reducing waste and improving efficiencies.
• Complete your daily SAP PM work orders on time and give feedback.
• Participate in Risk Assessments based on external and internal influences. Including in incident investigations as may be required.
• Report any incidents to the supervisor and/or via the systems in use.
• Participate in any inspection or audit as may be required.
• Ensure compliance with any instruction given with regards to Occupational Health and Safety, statutory and PPE requirements as per area of work.
• Maintain a high quality of housekeeping.
• Assists in cost reduction initiatives by reducing waste and improving efficiencies.
• When required, the incumbent is to work rotational shifts with other Fitter artisans to cover the Refinery business unit.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of N3 qualification is required in Mechanical Engineering with a recognised Trade Test certificate as a Fitter.
• At least 2 years experience post apprenticeship.
• Tertiary qualification and/or second Trade Test (Millwright) will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 2 years working experience within a Refinery or smelter environment.
