Assistant Artisan Boilermaker - Northam Development at Redpath Mining

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric certificate/ equivalent
• Competent B Certificate is a pre-requisite and Competent A is advantageous
• Medically fit
• Valid First Aid Certificate

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• At least 3 years in a similar role
• Basic trade knowledge of boilermaking
• Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act
• Strong attention to details

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to strict occupational Health and Safety regulations
• Understanding and following instructions from diagram and blueprints
• Assisting with welding operations and preparing metals for fabrication
• Carrying tools, equipment, and materials to the work area
• Cutting, shaping, and preparing metal equipment using hand tools, power tools and potentially flame cutting torch
• Provide crucial support to the Boilermaker in fabrication, assembly, maintenance and repairs of boilers, tanks, and other large metal structures.
• Good housekeeping.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment
• Assist Boilermaker to deal with defects raised on pre-start reports, breakdown sheets and inspection reports
