Assistant Manager: Carbon and Energy at Ernst & Young Global Limited (EY)

Role: Carbon Consultant

• Assist clients with quantifying GHG emissions (with verifiable audit trail) in accordance with the National GHG Emission Reporting Regulations and the Methodological Guidelines for the Quantification of GHG Emission.
• Assist clients with carbon tax compliance (Carbon Tax Act 2019) and the associated tax-free allowances:
• Carbon budgets and future Mandatory Carbon Budgets
• Pollution Prevention Plans (future Mitigation Action Plans)
• Performance Benchmarks
• Carbon Offsets (assist / facilitate purchase and retire of credits)
• Understanding the impact of policy changes and developing financial models to model the financial impacts.
• Assisting clients with compliance requirements under the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms (EU, UK and potential future CBAM). Assisting with actual embedded emission calculations, ongoing policy developments and changes and understanding and modelling the impacts of CBAM of covered sectors.
• Assisting clients quantify Scope 3 emissions.
• Development of Carbon Credit Projects (feasibility and development) assistance in drafting and understanding Carbon Market Frameworks.
• Perform GHG verification (ISO 14064/5) for GHG reporting, CBAM and carbon credit projects.
• We run carbon connect steering committee meetings for big clients and discuss all the major policy developments and how this impacts our clients and work closely with EY Global Teams based in Europe and United Kingdom as well as other jurisdictions.
