    Banking Administrator

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Diploma in Accounting or studying towards a BCom Accounting degree
    • 2-3 years’ experience in financial accounting within a trust and treasury environment
    • Knowledge of Legal Practice Council Act & Rules
    • Knowledge of FICA and FATCA beneficial
    • Experience with online banking systems beneficial
    • Experience in foreign currency transactions beneficial
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office

    Job Accountabilities:

    • Create foreign beneficiaries on online platform before requesting the bank to lock beneficiary for payment
    • Process business payments (local and foreign) on online banking system from local and foreign currency bank accounts accurately and timeously, ensuring supporting documents are sufficient
    • Print and circulate inward telegraphic transfers (tt’s) from international trade system.
    • Reply accurately and timeously to inward tt’s, once forex sold
    • Run report from FX Trading for review and sign off by supervisor
    • Scrutiny of daily receipts on business bank statements
    • Liaison with bank and debtors clerks to identify and allocate all receipts daily (local and foreign)
    • Monitor unidentified/unallocated business and trust receipts
    • Send unidentified payments to partners and staff for identification and follow up to ensure that the payments are allocated timeously
    • Request more information from bank on unidentified receipts, send information received to credit control team and follow up on long outstanding unidentified amounts.
    • Ordering forex for directors and staff travelling overseas
    • Assist in daily transfer of funds and trust control reconciliations
    • Prepare and send outstanding list of trust receipts daily to directors and staff for identification and allocation
    • Capture and process attorney trust transactions (local and foreign), accurately and timeously in accordance with the Legal Practice Act and Rules, FICA and FATCA.
    • Ensure client authorization is obtained for all trust transactions
    • Process investment transactions (opening and closing of investments) with correct supporting documentation), interest and investment reconciliation to statements
    • Monitor unidentified/unallocated business and trust receipts
    • Prepare stationery allocations, depreciation and withholding tax journal, submit to manager for review before processing at month end
    • Capture reversals and write offs as and when they arise
    • Prepare deposit form for local or foreign cheque received and submit to manager for review and sign off before sending to the bank for processing
    • Ensure timeous response to all trust queries received internally and externally
    • Provide information to auditors, as and when required
    • Complete ad hoc tasks accurately and timeously as and when required
    • Support the business as and when adhoc financial request come in and provide information that is accurate, of a high standard and delivered within required timeframes
    • Assist with designated and identified projects and initiatives
