    Bridgestone Manufacturing Excellence (B-ME) Manager - Brits

    Job Purpose

    • To assure the proper level of skills and qualification reside at the plant to successfully deploy the loss elimination skill needed for the CBN.
    • Ensure IWS work is loss focused and targeted to delivering CBN
    • Provide direct coaching to Site Leadership teams so they know what the next step is, why the next step is important and how to do the next step while creating capability to deliver stable and predictable operations.
    • Promote reapplication of approaches and techniques within the site while assuring the tools used are being used according to the standard.

    Responsibilities:

    • Orchestrate the IWS journey of the site to enable site phase progression
    • Assures IWS activities have a connection to loss elimination that will deliver required CBN results
    • Coach to find solutions and eliminating barriers to drive capability
    • “Looks ahead” for what capabilities will be needed in the next 6 to 18 months, works closely with the Site Leader to ensure the Master Plan is on track, intervenes as required by involving the appropriate people to ensure continuous progress
    • Provides publicity/promotion, general education and other communication that increase IWS understanding and accelerate progress across the site/organization
    • Assessor of integrated activity implementation and standards calibrator with leadership team.
    • Participates in all phase assessments to provide a calibrated and objective viewpoint
    • Works closely with the IC to ensure the site is receiving effective guidance/coaching and leads on best-in-class systems/tools for reapplication
    • Develop capability in leadership teams
    • Diagnose activities and identify technical know-how and organization behaviors that are barriers to implementation.
    • Provide feedback to leadership teams that cause them to take action.
    • Work closely with Pillar Teams to assure standard application of their pillar capabilities
    • Support site leader in selecting the right pillar leader
    • Ensure continuity of staffing of the pillar network

    Activities:

    • Daily / Weekly:
    • Daily consultative review with team / individual on the small group activities
    • Tour one department / one team / one line to understand IWS progress, execution status, helps needed and reapplication opportunities.
    • Review IWS web site for self-improvement and benchmark reapplication.
    • Discuss plant wide issues that are constraining IWS progress or adjust pillar focuses.
    • 1:1 meeting with plant manager to calibrate IWS understanding and analyze progress.
    • Conduct AM / PM audits as need.
    • Lead Department Leader loss elimination team.

    Monthly:

    • Attend Pillar meetings as need.
    • Participate in Department review with Plant Manager to understand business situation and IWS execution in depart. level. Collect needs and reapplication opportunities.
    • Lead site Pillar review.
    • 1:1 meeting with pillar owners to adjust Pillar master plans. Provide feedback to Pillar owners and plant manager on Pillar progress
    • Involve in critical systems development.
    • Work with Pillar owners to train and develop LPT on specific pillar tools / systems.
    • Maintain leadership board and IWS promotion board.
    • Update Internal Consultant on IWS progress.
    • Ensure that site master plan is supported with pillar activities.

    Quarterly:

    • IWS Internal Consultant visits arrangement and follow up.
    • Assesses Pillar health.
    • Update and acts upon the gaps in the IWS Leader StepUp Card.

    Annually:

    • Master plan consolidation / Zero Loss Journey review and revision.
    • Participate in Loss Analysis event.
    • Review R&R CBA to maintain its power of energizing the whole organization.
    • Review the training plans with LPT.
    • IWS benchmark visit

    Education:

    • Good understanding of intent and working of each pillar or in-depth skills in two pillars
    • Minimum of level 3 qualification in problem-solving tools (IPS, UPS, PDCA, OPM, Standardized Work, VSM), Leadership Envisioning, and DDS including RTT DMS’s.

    Experience:

    • Consulting skills (developing relationships, diagnosis, feedback, and enrolling leadership team to take action)
    • Able to influence plant managers and plant leadership teams, and Directors as required
    • On-the-floor credibility with people doing the work.
    • Capable to define and deliver the IWS masterplan
