    Business Analyst II In Country

    Position Title: Business Analyst II In Country
    Grade: C4

    McCain Foods in Johannesburg (Bedfordview), South Africa is seeking a Business Analyst II (In-Country). As our Business Analyst, you are a true partner to the business, collaborating and engaging within major business functions, you will work with business stakeholders to assess, gather, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to and the implementation of new business processes, policies and information systems at all levels of complexity. Within the Systems Development Life Cycle domain, the Business Analyst performs a liaison between the business and the IT side of the enterprise, and can also provide detailed system training, testing, and support.

    Responsibilities

    • Execute tasks, at all levels of complexity during every phase of implementation projects including business process re-engineering, business analysis, training, testing, and support.
    • Manage work packages which will require an understanding and adherence to IT implementation methodologies and practices (Project Management Methodology, Systems Development Methodology, Project Management Office)
    • Responsible for the analysis, requirements gathering, and testing during the IT system enhancement process. Responsible for the application support/incident management process (issue identification, root cause analysis, issue resolution, testing and change management), of IT system issues within Service Level Agreement (SLA) guidelines.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with a primary focus on Internal IT (Global Technology Center and In-Country) with a secondary focus on business customers including senior executives, providing support and analysis where necessary and ensuring alignment between IT and the Business.
    • Encourage junior resources to take responsibility for their development within McCain. Challenge others to develop as leaders, while serving as a role model. Shares acquired skills and business/system knowledge with team members through formal and informal channels.
    • May act as Product Manager for a specific application. Understand long term business requirements (3-5 years), determine application strategy to support those needs, and the creation of product planning documentation.

    Qualifications

    • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
    • Professional/Technical Accreditations considered an asset
    • Proven experience working on major system projects. In depth knowledge of a number of primary application groups at the system level.
    • Proven expertise in knowledge exchange and liaison between IT and business stakeholders/users, as well as mentoring staff.
    • Proven inter-personal skills to successfully work in a dynamic team and successfully dealing with staff members from all levels of the organization.

    Other Desirable Qualities

    • Strong knowledge of integrated ERP systems (SAP, Oracle etc..)
    • Solid business acumen preferably in the Manufacturing area
    • Able to take a front seat with the business and speak the language of business
    • Ability to explain the value of what I.S. delivers in terms and language the business can understand
    • Understands how I.T. can be a “lever” to business growth and transformation
    • Able to effectively collaborate and work in a team setting across cultures and international boarders
