Business / Data Analyst Developer at Barron

About the Role

• We are looking for a Business / Data Analyst Developer to join our BI & Analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing data pipelines, transforming raw data into analytics-ready datasets, creating Power BI reports and dashboards, and providing meaningful business insights that support strategic decision-making.
• This role combines data engineering, business intelligence and analytics using Microsoft Fabric and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric.
• Ingest, cleanse, and transform data from multiple source systems.
• Build and maintain Lakehouses, Dataflows, and Notebooks.
• Develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
• Write SQL, Python, and PySpark code for data transformation and analysis.
• Perform data modelling and create analytics-ready datasets.
• Analyse business data and provide actionable insights.
• Gather reporting requirements from business stakeholders.
• Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Leverage AI tools to improve development and reporting efficiency.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (NQF 7) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Equivalent industry experience may be considered.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering or Data Analytics.
• Minimum 2 years' experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience with SQL, Python, and data modelling.
• Experience engaging with business stakeholders and presenting analytical findings.
