    Business Development Consultant

    Some of your responsibilities will include:

    • Proactively look for new business opportunities. Meet agreed sales/ new business targets
    • Network and promote the Group brand and build strong relationships within the EB industry
    • Establish future clients’ needs and business drivers
    • Prepare for future client contact by carrying out client research to understand their business
    • Build a trusted relationship with future clients through questioning and influencing skills.
    • High level of technical knowledge (Employee Benefits in general) in order to be able to articulate solutions to clients
    • Manage pipeline effectively
    • Able to work in cross functional (matrix) teams
    • Excellent planning skills – can prioritise time to deal with a large portfolio of future clients
    • Ability to explore / introduce alternate product offerings within the EB market, drive strategy and implementation.

     

    Role-specific Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience

    • Be enthusiastic, energetic and confident 
    • Be client oriented 
    • Innovative 
    • Have an aggressive new business attitude 
    • Be decisive and able to take responsibility for those decisions 
    • Must have the ability to think outside of the Traditional model / out of the industry thinking 
    • Ability to strategise and drive strategy into action 
    • Must be able to deliver on what is promised / sold to clients 
    • A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent 
    • Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act 
    • Minimum NQF5 Wealth Management or equivalent 
    • Must be accredited with major service providers 
    • Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar or related role in Employee Benefits 
    • Have a solid sales background (with a proven track record) 
    • Must have experience in the EB industry 
    • Be dependable and respect confidentiality 
    • Management of a team will be an advantage, but not a requirement 
    • Experience in M&As will be an advantage
