    Business Development Executive

    As a Business Development Executive some of your responsibilities will include: 

    1. Compliance Framework and Methodology

    • Working with Branch Managers/ Client Managers to ensure high quality, efficient and compliant delivery of all client servicing administrative/transactional activities
    • Establishing future clients’ needs and business drivers. 
    • Preparing for future client contact by carrying out client research to understand their business and the environment and sector in which they operate 
    • Building a trusted relationship with future client through questioning and influencing skills. 
    • Have close working relationships with the client management and bid management teams and bringing them into the relationship at the appropriate time 
    • High level of technical knowledge in order to be able to articulate solutions to clients 
    • Managing pipeline effectively • Able to work in cross functional (matrix) teams 
    • Excellent planning skills – can prioritise time to deal with a large portfolio of future clients

    Role-specific Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience

    • Possesses advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities 
    • Has a broad knowledge of Aon generally and a deeper knowledge within the sector / territory 
    • Can confidently articulate Aon’s proposition and how it differentiates Aon and benefits to future clients 
    • Looks for cross selling opportunities wherever possible 
    • Knows when to negotiate and on what basis e.g. service – can articulate the value of offerings 
    • Ability to communicate effectively 
    • Good interpersonal and organizational skills 
    • Very good knowledge of Policy wordings and market conditions 
    • Be computer literate with advanced experience in MS Word & Excel 
    • A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent 
    • A Bachelor’s degree is preferable 
    • Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act 
    • Must be registered as a licentiate with the IISA 
    • Have a minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience in a similar or related role 
    • Be dependable and respect confidentiality 
    • Have a high work ethic and must have the ability to function effectively under pressure 
    • Be a team player, have the ability to build good relationships, support and actively participate in, and contribute to any team initiative.
