    Business Intelligence Design and reporting Analyst

    Description

    • Cenfri is seeking a Business Intelligence Reporting Specialist to analyse business data and translate into meaningful reports and dashboards to inform decision making. This will include planning, design, analysis, monitoring and reporting processes - both internally and externally to clients. This role will enable the research and admin support teams to achieve excellence in delivery using intelligent reporting.

    Key result areas are:

    Analysis of business and financial data to inform decision-making

    • Analysis and interpretation of business and financial information
    • Structuring business data within a maintained central database
    • Facilitating the co-creation of relevant business information to enable management information reporting
    • Providing management information to enable managers to proactively manage operational performance in a project environment and measure financial results
    • Designing applicable BI Dashboards & reports
    • Documenting business processes and recommending process improvements.
    • Proactive stakeholder communication and process enhancement
    • Regular engagement with users facilitated to ensure emerging user requirements are understood and implemented where appropriate
    • Continuous improvement of systems and processes based on experience and learnings
    • Using data to contribute to and support project and portfolio management system design
    • Documenting, maintaining and operationalising project management related templates, system notes and policies – including improvements required, noted through engagement with all project stakeholders, from directors to junior project managers
    • Ensuring accurate and timely information is shared and disseminated at relevant project and portfolio forums related to delivery, budget and resource allocation; as well as co-ordinating follow-ups on actions agreed
    • Providing inputs and trade-off guidance regarding overall resource capacity and constraints for appropriate resource allocation
    • Contributing to the design of plans and tracking tools for monitoring and reporting, including financial, project status and resource related reporting

    Project reporting

    • Managing the collation and drafting of financial and narrative reports through efficient data collection systems and coordination amongst contributors
    • Preparing project reports and managing systems to inform internal project and program management decisions

    Support excellent delivery

    • Contribute to the design of systems required to ensure excellence in delivery by the research teams
    • Supporting admin and research teams to ensure excellence in delivery and ad hoc support to project managers and coordination across other pillars

    Income modelling and capacity planning

    • Develop and maintain future income models forecasting and budgeting purposes

    Requirements

    • Relevant graduate qualification in commerce, finance, accounting, project management, business management or related fields
    • Three years business analysis and / or project reporting experience, preferably in a consulting environment
    • Financial and reporting experience
    • Proficient in data analytical tools for creating dashboards (Power BI preferred)

    The ideal candidate

    • Has good quantitative and data analytical skills
    • Has a financial background and is comfortable with building information metrics
    • Has excellent organisational skills
    • Has good database and presentation skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Has good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Is passionate about good systems and enjoys enabling others to be effective
    • Is proficient in MS office applications (including advanced Excel)
    • Experience within a development or non-profit environments advantageous


    Preference will be given to candidates currently residing within South Africa, and Employment Equity candidates.
