    Business Line Manager Rock Tools - M3

    Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology Southern Africa is currently seeking a Business Line Manager Rock Tools reporting to the VP/MD Sales Southern Africa who will be responsible to develop and implement the sales strategy with assigned geographical territory / country through first line managers.

    Main Responsibilities

    OPERATIONAL ACTIVITIES:

    • Participate to PRE-DSB calls
    • Receive and distribute SA Supply Plan and Global Supply Plan
    • Tools planning:
    • Ensure TSSR develop view on forward demand Consolidate view of total demand for Sales Area Create a supply plan for the SA and by stocking location
    • Tools order management:
    • Receive and process customer orders including providing order confirmations Answer order delivery inquiries from customer Authorize customer invoicing
    • Tools order fulfillment management:
    • Ensure clearance and local delivery either SA or customer stocking location Ensure management of tools warehouse Ensure inventory management and control
       

    Effective Customer Relations

    • Address complaints and suggestions
    • Competitor analysis and needs analysis
    • Relationship marketing and market services
    • Regular interaction with clients
    • Clarify expectations and Long term planning
    • Reports from customer
    • Reported deviations and trends
    • Presentation to customer
       

    Effective Subordinates

    • Managerial responsibility for multiple team/departments across location
    • Performance agreements, reviews and appraisals

    • Continuous assessment of current personnel skills levels
       

    Cost Effectiveness

    • Produce and ensure attainment of rolling forecast, budget and weekly targets
    • Financial and budgetary reviews and reports
    • Identify and implement procedural change
    • Manage and provide regular business performance metric reports to management
    • Continuous needs analysis (internal and external)
    • Liaise and work with senior management to set forecasts, budgets and targets
    • Ensure strong financial discipline with assigned geographical territory balancing sales results and managing administrative and sales expense
       

    Sales Activities

    • Ultimate responsibility is to meet established sales goals and ensuring they are effectively cascaded in sales goals of sales team
    • Review and monitor sales performance periodically and refine sales strategy as required by management
    • Identify opportunities to sell Sandvik total offerings
    • Create and execute customer testing to develop sales opportunities
    • Lead sales management (including best view on future demand)
    • Conduct competitor analysis
    • Develop deep understanding of customer business, operations and processes
       

    EDUCATION

    • Relevant Business Diploma/Degree
    • MBA/MBL advantageous
    • Advanced Computer Literacy
       

    Experience

    • 10 years of relevant experience
    • 5 years experience in a Senior Management position
    • English proficiency
    • Experience in key account management
    • Experience in mining applications (specifically mechanized mining)
