Buying Manager: Cellular - Northern Suburbs (Cape) at PEP

Purpose of the job

A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, energetic and industry-savvy leader exists in our Commercial department. The successful candidate will be tasked with influencing and executing the strategic roadmap of the Cellular department, building strong relationships and enabling cross functional collaboration to ensure effective implementation of strategic plans. This role demands a blend of strategic vision and operational excellence to drive the department's success.

Key Responsibilities 

• Leadership and Development: Guide and mentor a team of Business Managers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance.
• Procurement and Purchasing: Oversee the procurement and acquisition of cellular products and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Sales Achievement: Drive sales performance by implementing strategic initiatives across all available sales channels to meet and exceed targets.
• Negotiation Support: Facilitate negotiations between Pep and cellular networks to secure favorable terms and agreements.
• Strategy Execution: Implement approved business plans and strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Projects: Take ownership of specific projects from inception through to successful execution, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance cooperation and achieve business goals.
• Product Development: Contribute to the development of new products, ensuring they meet market needs and align with company strategy.
• Operational Alignment: Ensure seamless integration and alignment between Cellular and Store Operations to optimize overall performance.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification  
• At least 5 years’ retail experience of which 3 were in a Cellular environment 
• International sourcing experience
• Extensive knowledge of Cellular products and services
• Advanced Computer skills
• Strong leadership skills
