Current registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa.
Masters Degree in Public Health or Business Administration.
10 years Clinical experience. Critical 5 years senior management experience.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Exco Member – Manage business performance of the Group (from Clinical perspective) against longer term strategic and regulatory objectives.
Develop and ensure planning and execution of integrated financial strategies to achieve cost effectiveness (through procurement pharmacy and nursing agency and staff costs).
Plan and utilise the available skills for maximum effectiveness and productivity.
Support and guide relevant workstreams (outside Clinical) to achieve Operational and Clinical success.
Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation applicable to healthcare.
Ensure critical risk areas are identified and establish mitigating and risk management plans.
Lead and direct the Clinical Department.
Lead strategic direction setting and strategic planning for the business area in alignment to the company’s vision, mission and values.
Collaboratively develop the strategy for the sub-functions in the portfolio.
Participate and influence decision making at EXCO level, preparing proposals to Board level.
Take a strategic view of the health value chain to ensure the Clinical Function (Hospital and Head Office level) is optimally integrated and aligned and optimised within CHG’s operating context.
Drive the implementation of integrated governance, compliance, integrity and ethics frameworks throughout the function and hold Clinical employees (Hospital and Head Office levels) and service providers accountable for delivering on these frameworks.
Mitigate risk and prepare contingency plans.
Identify short-, medium-, and long-term business risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
Lead the development and maintenance of policies, standards and procedures for the business area and integrate business strategies across operations.
Executive Management of the Clinical Function.
Lead and implement the Clinical Strategy for the organisation.
Oversee the establishment of Clinical standards, SOPs, guidelines and protocols and ensure implementation and adherence across the group in the below sub-functions:
Patient safety and quality
Clinical Risk Management
Clinical Pharmaceutical Services
Nursing
Academy
Drive operational efficiency and quality service delivery for all Clinical sub-functions.
In collaboration with Operations and Legal, ensure the establishment and adherence to the group wide admissions privileges agreement for medical doctors across the group.
Lead and direct the quality of healthcare delivery across the Group including setting standards for resources required to support the delivery of healthcare by various clinical disciplines and nursing units.
Co-lead the establishment of clinical safety of medical equipment standards and ensure compliance thereof across the group with the Chief Operations Officer.
Lead the development of relevant policies and protocols in collaboration with the Clinical Risk Committee, Medical Specialists, Pharmaceutical Services, The Health Academy & Nursing Allied Health Professionals and ensure thereof.
Set the standard of professional performance for medical, Nursing and Allied and Health Professionals.
Lead and provide Clinical expert support to Nursing, Medical, and Allied Health workers across the organisation.
Provides leadership and job-specific direction to all patient care professionals at Hospital level.
Ensure Nursing, Medical and Allied Health professionals adhere to approved standards and protocols in execution of their daily tasks.
Collaborate with Chief Operations Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Hospital Managers in the recruitment of Clinicians and Allied workers across all Medical disciplines.
Drive the improvement and achievement of Clinical and Quality measures through the Clinical Risk and Patient Safety sub-function leads.
Drive the assessment of medical care standards, protocols and practices and ensures the relevant sub-function leads develop or revise existing protocols and policies to ensure high quality patient care.
Develop an on-going review process to ensure optimum and consistent quality of care in Hospital sites.
