Chief Security Officer - Inland Terminals

The Chief Security Officer will play a pivotal role in establishing a secure environment in which business operations can be successfully conducted by performing security risk assessments and providing effective and efficient security solutions. Responsible for maintaining and deployment of the Security of Personnel & Assets Policy. Incumbent is an SME well versed with Terminals security. To manage all security requirements and structures of Astron Energy’s Inland National Key Points as mandated by the applicable laws including all other Inland terminals (total of four).

Key Responsibilities

• To manage National Key Point Security Requirements:
• Represent the Alrode and other Inland NKP Terminal Management at strategic government state security committees.
• Provide expert advice and support to the Facility Management on facility security strategies, threat assessments, mitigations planning and implementation, business continuity and emergency planning.
• Implement company Security of Personnel and Assets (SP&A) Policy and recommended Security best practices.
• Implement security measures and procedures for the Alrode and other Inland NKP Terminals following guidelines provided by the Critical Infrastructure ( Act 8/ 2019) and Astron Energy SP&A Security Policies.
• Liaison with external law enforcements agencies.

Integrated Security Risk Management:

• Implementation of a Security Risk Management Strategy and activities, on a cross functional basis for your respective area, in line with Corporate Security Policies, with direction from line and regional management.
• SP&A Management - Ensure that Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) and Facility Security Plans (SFPs) are updated and reflects security measures on site.
• A contributor to the Security Department’s risk identification and mitigation strategy.
• Risk Identification/Threat and Vulnerability Assessment – Terminals & Facilities
• Security Awareness Program

• Investigation/ Incident Reporting and Investigations
• Compliance
• Management of Security Providers

Requirements

• Senior Certificate, PSIRA Grade A and a degree in Security Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 year’s solid experience as an NKP Security Manager in the petroleum or mining industry or 3 years NKP Training Instructor experience.
• National Key Point competency training certificate.
• Firearms and Ammunition Handling training competency certificate.
• Previous experience (3-5 years) in Corporate Security management, developing corporate security procedures will be an advantage.
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Above average oral and written communication skills
• Presentation skills (presentation preparation and delivery)
• Report writing skills
• Expert knowledge in internal investigation or criminal techniques – highly recommended.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft word, Excel & PowerPoint – intermediate or advanced level).
• Negotiation skills
• Sound decision making experience
