RPO Recruitment's client, a reputable civil engineering contractor in South Africa is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to join its team in Durban. This opportunity is ideal for a surveyor with a strong background in civil infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform site surveys, setting out, and survey control for civil construction projects.
Establish and verify survey control points, benchmarks, and levels.
Carry out as-built surveys and prepare accurate survey records.
Interpret engineering drawings and ensure works are set out in accordance with design specifications.
Monitor construction tolerances and verify completed works.
Process and manage survey data using relevant surveying software.
Liaise with site management, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants.
Ensure surveying equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operating correctly.
Maintain accurate survey documentation and reporting.
Requirements:
National Diploma or Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related qualification.
5–10 years' land surveying experience within the civil construction industry.
Proven experience on civil infrastructure projects such as roads, earthworks, pipelines, bulk services, or bridges.
Proficient in modern surveying equipment, including GPS, Total Stations, and Digital Levels.
Experience using surveying software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Centre, or similar.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and survey principles.
Valid driver's licence.
Willingness to work on site in and around Durban.
