Claims Consultant – Port Elizabeth at Accountancy Placements

• Our client in the insurance sector seeks an experienced, service-driven Claims Consultant to manage claims from registration to settlement. The ideal candidate will have strong claims knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to build effective relationships with clients, insurers, and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Register, investigate, and manage claims from inception to settlement
• Refer claims exceeding settlement authority to insurers within required timeframes
• Process claims in line with company procedures and insurer requirements
• Maintain accurate claims diaries and comprehensive file notes on Flexi/Nimbis
• Upload all claim correspondence and documentation within required timeframes
• Monitor claims reports and ensure outstanding balances are accurately managed
• Verify claim payments for accuracy before processing
• Liaise with clients, insurers, assessors, attorneys, and service providers to facilitate claim resolution
• Ensure claims are accurately updated, settled, and closed
• Maintain service standards, turnaround times, internal controls, and regulatory compliance

Requirements

• NQF 4 Short-Term Insurance qualification
• 3–5 years’ experience in a short-term claims environment
• RE5 qualification and FAIS compliance
• Sound knowledge of insurance claims processes and regulations
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
