Clinical Manager (Medical) Grade 1 (Tshwane District Health Services)
Bachelor of Medicine (MBChB) or Bachelor of Surgery Degree. equivalent. Registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
A minimum experience of 10 years after Registration with the HPCSA as an Independent Medical Practitioner. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Virtual Meeting Platforms) etc.
Excellent Communication (written and Verbal), Applicant must be in a possession of a valid South African Driver’s licence. Sound knowledge of medical services, and Clinical Forensic Medical Services Legislations and related Legal and Ethical Practices; PFMA and Public Service Act and Regulations.
Good interpersonal Relation, IT, Financial and human resource management skills. Ability to work independently in terms of decision making and problem solving in clinical or administrative scenarios.
Sound clinical knowledge and experience in the medical services and Clinical Forensic Medical Services. Ability to manage, train and supervise Clinicians within the District. Ability to give evidence in court as an Expert / State witness for patients seen or for Clinicians who are no more working in the district if needed by the Magistrate or Judge.
Managerial Experience and or a Diploma/Certificate in Clinical Forensic Medical Services or General Management will be an advantage.
Duties :
Overall Coordinator / Manager for Medical services including Clinical Forensic Medical Services and National Health Insurance medical officers. Infection Prevention Control Coordinator.
Assist in the management of Commuted Overtime for Doctors in Tshwane of medical officers. Assist in the management of Full Time and Sessional District Clinicians. Coordinate Medical Services according to policies and regulations.
Provide support for effective and efficient medical services delivery within Primary Health Care. Participate in organising the Continues Medical Education programme for Clinicians within the District forensics units.
Manage complaints within the Unit and advice the District Management accordingly. Supervise and coordinate the 24 hours Medical Services. Involve in recruitment and placement of Staff within Tshwane District.
Provide access to skills development and capacity building opportunities. Work collaboratively in solving problems and generate solutions to common problems within the Department that may be impacting on the performance of the incumbent.
Assist the development of clinical care and guidelines, protocols and standard operating procedures and monitor the implementation thereof. Conduct the patients file and patients J88 audit. Maintain the Thuthuzela Care Centre (TCC) status. Work as part of District Management Team, and with District Family Physicians
