    Co-Packing Planner

    Job Description

    • Co-Packing Management: Converting Demand (Forecast) to a Co-packing plan. Identify constraints base on Rough Cut capacity planning and adjusting Co-Packing plan according to this. Managing priorities based on interaction with Supply Chain and Sales teams. Ensuring manufacturing output is aligned to Co-Packing plan.

    • Aligning with Demand and Supply Planner on imported goods to facilitate Co-Packing plan. To ensure packaging stock holding is in line with Supply Chain and Financial KPI’s.

    • Packaging Planning: Ensuring packaging plan is drawn up and communicated to suppliers and aligned to  Co-Packing plan. Follow up on delivery timing with suppliers. To ensure packaging stock holding is in line with Supply Chain and Financial stock holding KPI’s.

    • Back Order Management: To ensure that priorities based on back order is actioned by Co-Packer and aligned to expectation of Supply Chain and Customer Service.

    • Support Supply chain to measure and analyze service levels and highlight where improvements can be made.                                                                                                                                                                                            Support Finance and Logistics to monitor, analyze and make recommendations for Working Capital Management, focusing on the balance sheet KPIs of Inventory levels (absolute value + days cover).                                                            

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Co-Packing Management: Attainment to plan measurement on a weekly and monthly basis.

    • CPP: Constrained Production Planning of BULK pens in conjunction with Supply Planners.

    • Packaging Planning: Drawing up packaging purchase plan, collaborate with Supply Planner, share purchase plan, and follow up on delivery with suppliers Managing stock out and working capital measurement of packaging.

    • Back Order: Timely delivery of the correct inventory to the warehouse in SA and Subsidiaries in Southern Africa to be measured by order fill rate improvement.

    • Excess Stock and Aging Inventory write of reduction to be achieved. 

    • Construction of routine reports and analysis to be done.                             

    • Inventory targets achievements    

    • Managing workload and deadlines efficiently, and in a structured manner.

    Main Dimensions

    - Objectives are joint with the wider team (sub)

    - Internal support to many functions - no direct reports.

    - Responsibilities will be both regular (e.g. Order fill rate / Back Order management), and some will be more adhoc, or project based (e.g. Inventory Landing and Cost of good reduction linked to Co-Packing cost).

    Professional Skills

    • Supply Chain and Manufacturing: The candidate must have 3-5 years prior experience in Supply Chains and how they function as well as the manufacturing process in an FMCG environment.

    • Inventory management: The candidate must have experience in managing inventory throughout the supply chain (Indent stock review / Planning / Production / Co-Packing / Finished Goods to End user or Customer)

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain / Logistics preferred.                   

    • CPIM or relevant Industry recognized certification preferred

    • WMS (GENERIX / SAP / Manhattan / Red Prairie or similar super user training)                                                                                                 

    • Computer Literacy -Experience in MS Word, Excel Advanced a MUST, Outlook & PowerPoint.

    • Prior experience in ORACLE JDE with MRP or similar demand planning software will be advantageous.

    Other Requirements

    • The candidate will meet current employment equity guidelines.                                                               

    • The candidate will be a good communicator and have excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills in dealing with the various departments namely Sales and Marketing / Production  / Finance / Import and Export / Warehouse and distribution staff.

    Experience

    • 3-5 years prior work-related experience in Production, Demand and Supply management and Warehousing Demand management.

    • The candidate must have 3-5-year prior experience in Production Planning / Capacity planning.

    • The candidate must have experience in working on JDE or similar ERP system as a key user.

    • The candidate must have experience in working on JDA / Blue Yonder or similar MRP systems as a key user.
