Bilnor Staffing Solutions' client in the mining sector is looking for an experienced Colliery Engineer for position in Middelburg, MP.
To manage and oversee all engineering activities within the operation in a safe, efficient, and legally compliant manner. The role ensures optimal performance of engineering services, supports operational targets, and contributes to achieving the mine’s business strategy.
Minimum Requirements:
Appointment as a 2.13.1 Appointee in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act
Valid GCC Mines and Works Certificate (Electrical and/or Mechanical)
Registration with the South African Colliery Engineering Association (SACEA)
Relevant qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 6 years’ experience as an appointed Engineer in a mining environment
Proven experience in opencast / colliery operations
Responsibilities:
Ensure full compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and all applicable legislation
Manage and coordinate all engineering maintenance and capital projects on site
Ensure availability, reliability, and optimal performance of all equipment and infrastructure
Oversee engineering budgets, cost control, and resource planning
Lead and manage engineering teams and contractors to achieve operational targets
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
Implement and maintain effective risk management and safety standards
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support operational objectives
Establish and maintain electrical and water reticulation systems on site
