    Continued Airworthiness Specialist - Kempton Park

    Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair has a vacancy for a Continued Airworthiness Specialist at our head office in Bonaero Park. 
    The successful applicant will report to the Manager: Continued Airworthiness
    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure that company aircrafts are maintained in an airworthy condition;
    • Check the work-pack prior to handing over to the AMO to ensure it is aligned with the aircraft Status report of due items/tacks as per SAM;
    • Ensures no defective or un-airworthy parts are installed in any component or Safair aircrafts before released to service;
    • Inspects and accepts all incoming material, i.e. new parts, supplies and repaired parts from contract service;
    • Performs qualify technical inspections of aircraft, components parts, and systems;
    • Ensures proper tagging and identification of all parts;
    • Performs quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tooling used for aircraft maintenance, including calibration of precision test equipment as outlined in the Manuals;
    • Performs in-progress and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair modification, rework and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and components parts, and assumes responsibility and final sign-off;
    • Inspects job progress, procedures, and maintenance forms used in performance of aircraft maintenance work to assure compliance with approved methods, data, procedures, and regulatory requirements;
    • Inspects all incoming parts to assure they carry approved documentation and certification;
    • Writes up discrepancies in accordance with procedures and submits reports of defects or un-airworthy conditions as per Safair procedures;
    • Conducting routine Aircraft Ramp Inspections;
    • Maintain all oversite compliance records required by the operator;
    • Maintains current library of aircraft maintenance manuals, parts catalogues, structure repair manuals, wiring manuals and engine manuals applicable to the Safair fleet;
    • Ensures proper procedures are performed on all completed work before it is released to service. Completes all inspection and maintenance records, reports and forms required before authorized release;
    • Responsible for assuring completion of required inspections and maintaining files of completed work orders and inspection forms in an efficient system for easy review by supervisor.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science;
    • Trade certificate as Aircraft Technician;
    • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licences (AME) with B737-400 and B737-800 rating;
    • Excellent understanding of aircraft maintenance practices and aviation regulations;
    • Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience.
