We are looking for a Co-ordinator: SP&L Shut to provide leadership and coordination of planning function such as work assessment, planning and scheduling function to ensure effective support to the RBM’s SP&L.

Reporting to the Manager: RMM and working in a collaborative community within the SP&L Engineering team, you will:

• Providing and managing a comprehensive work assessment, planning and scheduling service to designated service sections
• Periodically assess the general quality of codes, numbers and classifications schemes to ensure that these will maximally contribute to quality management reporting
• Responsible for compliance on reporting. Rio Tinto compliance and corrective actions
• Coordinating the development of the annual operational level maintenance budget based on zero based budgeting (ZBB)
• Supporting the Plant Engineer to achieve his set objective for the area.
• Assist Plant Engineer with the coordination of Shutdown Management.
• To promote mutual support and sharing of knowledge across all sections.
• To periodically assess the general level of planning services provided, by formally as well as informally discussing it with production management, and thereby stimulating continuous service improvement.
• Supervise and control the activities, standards of performance and behaviour of designated support staff.
• Provide guidance and leadership to enable team to carry out tasks safely and professionally.

What you’ll bring

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team (standard for all job adverts)
• N6 or Diploma in Engineering discipline
• Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in an operational environment and Supervisory position
• EB License
• 10years appropriate industrial experience in mining, engineering maintenance, planning and 5years in supervisory capacity.
• General understanding of Mechanical and Electrical equipment within a Heavy mining environment.
• Sound understanding of asset management strategies and maintenance practices with exceptional skills in SAP and the Project Management
