Vacancy exists for a CSSD Manager at Life Kingsbury Hospital. The successful candidate will report to the Theatre Operations Manager. The position requires a leader who can effectively manage the operational functions of the CSSD department while ensuring full compliance with legislative, infection prevention, and quality standards. The successful candidate must oversee all decontamination, sterilisation, packing, and distribution processes to guarantee the safe and efficient supply of surgical instruments. Strong staff management is essential, including performance oversight, training, and ongoing development.
Critical Outputs
Ensure correct packing and sterilization of instrument sets and linen packs for theatre and doctors’ rooms in accordance with Company infection control standards by CSSD staff
Manage CSSD so that it meets the requirements to comply with relevant legislation and Life Healthcare policies and procedures
Manage CSSD staff to ensure adequate and cost-effective staffing promoting co-operative working relationships and performance management
Manage the department’s budget, including control and maintenance of equipment and stock
Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the Department to ensure adherence to infection control and SHEQ policies and procedures.
Good communication/interpersonal skills
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and manage the Unit workload
Effectively market the Unit to the Doctors to promote satisfactory working relationships
Gather relevant information to assist Theatre Manager in Capital Expenditure planning
Requirements
Registered Nurse Theatre Qualified/Experienced in operating theatre processes including, scrubbing, flooring, anesthetic induction or a qualification in decontamination services or qualification in any other sterilization procedures.
Current registration with SANC
Previous experience in managing a CSSD department would be highly advantageous
Previous people management and conflict management experience required
Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail
