Cuticell machine operator at Essity

About The Role

Essity is looking for a Machine Operator to join our Operations team based at our Pinetown manufacturing site. The overall objective of the position is to be able to operate the Cuticell pouch machine.

The incumbent will directly report to the Team Leader and will be responsible for the smooth running of the Cuticell plant and adhering to its processes. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the company’s safety standards and quality requirements are maintained according to the designated area’s requirements.

What You Will Do

• Ensure that machine safety interlocks are always operational and the machine is running according to the required product being processed.
• Maintain good housekeeping and Good Manufacturing Practices conditions in Cuticell.
• Complete the daily worksheet and record all products processed within the department.
• Perform quality checks to ensure that the product meets the minimum required quality standards.
• Ensure that waste is monitored daily and is within the required standards.
• Ensure that batch and expiry date are correct as per the week and they are recorded correctly in the in-process record sheet.
• Always monitor the machine and do minor adjustments when required.
• Adhere to the Hygiene SOP for entering, exiting, and operating in the specific department.
• Assist the team leader during the stock-take.

Who You Are

• Must have Matric with basic numerical skills.
• Machine operating and previous production experience.
• Work shift pattern as defined by the company’s shift system and may also be asked to work overtime as and when required by the company’s operational requirement.
• Must work well within a team and independently.
• Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
