We are seeking a Data Engineer III to support our Global Operations Metrics and Technology Support team. In this role, you will develop and manage data processes, support data transfers, and contribute to data-driven solutions that enhance our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and support data transfers, including setup and configuration.
Translate business requirements into effective data engineering solutions while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data models.
Develop and maintain code using languages such as Java, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, Unix, .Net, and HPCC.
Develop clean, efficient, and reliable code following industry best practices.
Utilize software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
Participate in code reviews and process improvement initiatives.
Troubleshoot data issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
Identify opportunities to automate processes for greater efficiency.
Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Requirements:
3+ years’ experience in data management area with a technical competency demonstrated.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science; or equivalent experience required.
Available to work the shift from 11:00 AM to 19:00 PM SAST.
Experience with Redshift, Teradata, and Tableau is highly preferred.
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of data workflow tools and automation techniques, coupled with strong file management and logical thinking skills.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, SQL, Python, or similar.
Knowledge of software development methodologies.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and communication skills.
