Data Engineer (OVA5687) at Ovations Technologies

Job Purpose

• This is a 3 – month contract with our client in the banking sector
• We are looking for a capable, quality-driven SQL Developer / Data Engineer who loves turning complex data into seamless, high-performing pipelines.

Responsibilities include:

• Fuel the Pipeline: Support, maintain, and continuously optimize our existing data pipelines to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Uphold Data Standards: Structure data to meet strict compliance standards using robust metadata governance.
• Keep Code Clean: Maintain version control and code repositories while following the team's agreed-upon development life cycles.
• Champion Quality: Ensure data reliability and quality remain at the centre of every pipeline you touch.

Minimum requirements include:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering.
• Core Tech Stack: Exceptional SQL skills and a deep understanding of 
• Data Modelling and Quality Assurance principles.
• The Bonus Point: Experience with Ab Initio is a massive plus (but not a dealbreaker).
• Process-Driven: Comfort with maintaining internal processes and adhering to structured development life cycles.
