Data Scientist at Sasol

The Data Scientist is responsible for the design, engineering, development, operationalisation and modification of complex and/or specialised data science systems in accordance with sound analytical principles and standards to drive business critical value adding decisions. As a SME in the CDO he/she will work closely with OME technical teams and support the embedding of data capabilities and ways of working within the OME’s.

• Manage and/or execute the design, engineering, development and modification of complex and/or specialised Data Science systems in accordance with sound analytical principles and standards to satisfy business requirements
• Manage and guide subordinates/contractors, providing technical direction to several Data Science projects
• Lead the identification and implementation of new opportunities and direct innovation
• Develop broad base of Data Science generalist knowledge and competence
• Define or leverage best practices and able to ensure/maintain compliance in own area
• Utilise Data Science systems, tools and standards (own, local and international) in own work
• Create, Develop and update of Data Science systems, tools and standards
• Apply expert knowledge in Agile project methodology

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Experience:

• BSc (Hons), BSc Eng
• Typically 8 Years Relevant Experience
