    Database Administrator II (OVA4030)

    Job Description:

    • We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Z/OS DB2 Database Administrator with a solid background in managing and optimizing DB2 databases on IBM mainframe systems.
    • This is a 12-month contract

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and optimize z/OS DB2 databases.
    • Perform database tuning, troubleshooting, and analysis.
    • Ensure database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
    • Participate in disaster recovery (DR) exercises and implement recovery procedures.
    • Use DB2 tools (Db2 Admin, Spufi) and IBM utilities for database management.

    Requirements

    • IT degree or equivalent industry accreditation preferred.
    • 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years as an operational DBA in a large corporate environment.
    • Minimum 4 years of experience with z/OS DB2 databases.
    • Strong skills in DB2 SQL writing, database performance tuning, and database security.
    • Proficiency in JCL, mainframe schedulers, and IBM utilities.
