Design Engineer - Northern Suburbs at Communicate Recruitment

• Evaluate and assess the scope of work for assigned tasks
• Develop and maintain bills of materials and create corresponding 3D assemblies
• Manage and organize product data
• Generate 3D parts and 2D part drawings that adhere to supplier and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with international suppliers and customers on design matters
• Conduct concept and design reviews
• Acquire proficiency in operating CAD software packages and PLM systems
• Provide support for day-to-day customer activities
• Propose innovative and technically feasible solutions to address cost reduction, service issues, and product enhancements
• Collaborate with materials and purchasing teams regarding new part design and sourcing
• Collaborate with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering departments to optimize material and manufacturing processes
• Coordinate with Product Regulation and Compliance staff to ensure compliance with government regulations, restrictions, and codes in product design.

Qualification:

• BEng or BTech Mechanical Engineering degree
• Minimum 3 years mechanical design experience
• 3D CAD experience

Requirements:

• Willing to travel overseas for variable periods
• South African Citizenship
