A reputable company is seeking a motivated Diesel Mechanic Apprentice to join their team in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate currently working towards their Diesel Mechanic trade qualification to gain hands-on experience and grow into a fully qualified Technician role.
The ideal candidate should be eager to learn, technically inclined, and committed to building a long-term career in the mechanical field.
Responsibilities:
Assist qualified technicians with maintenance, servicing, and repairs on diesel vehicles and equipment.
Support fault-finding and diagnostic activities under supervision.
Perform basic mechanical tasks and component replacements as directed.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop areas in a safe and organised condition.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Accurately complete basic job cards and maintenance records.
Participate in on-the-job training and development programmes.
Assist with general workshop duties as required.
Requirements:
Matric certificate (essential).
Currently enrolled in or working towards a Diesel Mechanic trade certificate (preferred).
Basic mechanical knowledge and strong interest in diesel mechanics.
Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
Good work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
